Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge
Game of Skill – Official Rules

INTRODUCTION
The Official Rules and Restrictions (the "Official Rules") apply only to guests of Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center (“Sponsor”) who have purchased the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge package and are staying at the resort for a minimum of two nights between May 2 through August 24, 2008 By participating in this game of skill, you acknowledge that you have read these Official Rules as well as the Terms and Conditions, and that you agree to abide by, and be subject to, the Official Rules and the Terms and Conditions, as well as the decisions of the judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects. In these Official Rules, "you," "your" and "participants" refers to you, the person who has enrolled in Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge.

1. GAME OF SKILL: SUMMER TREASURE HUNT CHALLENGE IS A GAME OF SKILL.
Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge is a skill contest designed to provide entertainment for overnight package guests of Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center between May 2 and August 24, 2008. Participants will be required to complete/solve a total of fourteen (14) clues/activities. Each clue/activity will be worth a predetermined number of points, and will vary by the degree of difficulty. Participants will be required to also submit a response to the final challenge, requiring creativity, that will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor, who will award points based on a pre-set criteria The winner of Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge will be the entrant who receives the highest total of points on all aspects of the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge including the solution to the fourteen (14) clues and final challenge. Chances of winning are dependent upon the total number of entrants.

2. SUMMER TREASURE HUNT CHALLENGE ENTRY
To enter, you must have purchased the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge overnight package (for a minimum of two nights); and be checked into the resort as a guest between May 2 and August 24, 2008. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours before date of arrival. Reservations can be made by calling the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center reservations team at 407-586-HUNT (4868).

Only one entry per guest room per stay. (Occupancy by no more than four (4) individuals ages 18 and above per guest room is allowed). Individuals occupying a single guest room will comprise a team, referred herein as “Team”. Each team may submit no more than one (1) entry per stay.

3. GRAND PRIZE WINNER SELECTION
Sponsor will award a total of three prizes to three winners. The winner will be determined by judges appointed by the Sponsor based on the following criteria:
To be eligible for the Grand Prize or the second or third place prizes, you must satisfy the Official Rules and the Terms and Conditions;
You must sign all waivers and agreements as required by the Sponsor;
You must participate in the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge at Gaylord Palms;
You must watch an orientation video that will be available to you on your guestroom television prior to being able to begin the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge. The video will review the rules and regulations of the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge. You will be required to submit a signed copy of the official rules before starting your participation in the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge.
You must complete the requirements of all fourteen (14) clues/activities plus the final challenge comprising the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge;
You must also submit an entry for the Tie-Breaker Challenge at the same time that you submit your completed Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge entry;
You must submit your completed entry (comprising the results of all fourteen (14) clues plus the final challenge plus the Tie-Breaker) to a designated Sponsor official by 11:59pm of the day you are scheduled to check-out of the resort. The last submission for the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge will be accepted at 11:59pm on August 24, 2008 for those guests checking out on August 24, 2008.
One Grand Prize will be awarded to the one participant with the highest score on the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge, as judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor from among all eligible entries in the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge. One Second Prize will be awarded to the one participant with the second highest score on the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge, as judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor from among all eligible entries in the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge. One Third Prize will be awarded to the one participant with the third highest score on the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge, as judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor from among all eligible entries in the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge. In case of a tie, winner in each category will be determined by a tie-breaker challenge. The participant with the highest combined score including the points earned on the tie-breaker challenge will be awarded the prize. Participants will be required to submit their entry for the tie-breaker challenge at the same time that they submit their final entry for the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge. Participants who have not submitted the tie-breaker challenge will not be eligible to win any of the prizes.
Winner will be determined on September 10, 2008. All decisions by the judges shall be final. Winner does not have to be present at the time of determination.

4. PRIZE
There will be one Grand Prize winner, and one Second Prize winner and one Third Prize Winner of the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge
Prizes: One Grand Prize winner will receive $10,000 in cash. One Second Prize winner will receive $3,500 in cash. One Third Prize winner will receive a three-night stay at any one of the four Gaylord Hotels in the United States (including Gaylord Palms, Kissimmee, Florida; Gaylord Opryland, Nashville, Tennessee; Gaylord Texan, Grapevine, Texas and Gaylord National, Prince George’s County, Maryland.
All prizes awarded may be subject to legal restrictions. In the event that the award of the Grand Prize to the winner of Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge is challenged by any legal authority, Sponsor has the sole right to determine whether or not to award such prize and whether or not to refund previous payments made by you. In such an event, the Released Parties (defined below) shall have no liability to any participants. The prize will be awarded regardless of the number of participants registered. Prize is not transferable and no substitution of prizes is permitted. ALL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF THE GRAND PRIZE, THE SECOND PRIZE AND THE THIRD PRIZE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RESPECTIVE WINNERS. Sponsor will report the award of each prize to the Internal Revenue Service and other applicable taxing authorities.
NOTIFICATION AND ACCEPTANCE: All three winners will be notified by email and/or regular mail within seven (7) days after the date the winner is determined. Winners must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and acceptance of these Official Rules and a publicity/liability release (unless prohibited by law) within fifteen (15) days after receipt of notification. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in disqualification and the selection of the participant with the next highest ranking (based on total points). Any prize notification returned as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Sponsor will attempt to contact winner via phone and/or email in order to fulfill the grand prize at least 3 times or for a period of 30 days. If the winner is unable to be reached, this may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Winner will receive their prize within 6 to 8 weeks of Sponsor's receipt of the signed form.

5. ELIGIBILITY
This game is open to residents of jurisdictions where this contest is permissible by law. Persons under the age of 18 years may participate in the contest only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents and consultants of Sponsor, Gaylord Entertainment Company (defined below) and each of their respective distributors, divisions and subsidiaries, their immediate families, and directors, officers, consultants, representatives, agents and employees of the game promotional partners are not eligible to win any prize. Recipients of complimentary/promotional package accommodations are eligible to compete for the Grand Prize.

6. TERMS
By participating in Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge, you (and if you are a minor, your parents or legal guardian) release and agree to hold harmless Sponsor, Gaylord Entertainment Company and each of their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, consultants, and agencies (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge, or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize (including without limitation, claims, costs, injuries and losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional) whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.

7. RULES OF CONDUCT
The following rules will apply to all participating teams while competing on-site at Gaylord Palms Resort during the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge. Any team, or individual within a team, found to be in breach of any of these rules will automatically be disqualified, with no refund. Should an individual be found in breach of any of these rules, the entire team will be disqualified, with no refund. The decision of the Sponsor is final.

  • A team will comprise only those guests occupying the same guest room. To qualify, one of the guests must be an adult 18 years of age or older. Children under the age of 18 may not participate without an adult.
  • A team may NOT seek the help of any outside influences, paid or unpaid, including but not limited to family or friends, other guests, the employees of Gaylord Entertainment or Gaylord Palms Resort or any of their partners or vendors.
  • A team may not seek the help of any other team for any reason – any questions related to the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge must be addressed to the designated judges (to be fully disclosed during the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge Orientation session)
  • Teams must work independently of one another, teams may not work together in any way. Information (including but not limited to the solution to any of the clues/activities in the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge) may not be shared between teams at any time.
  • Participants may not in any way infringe upon the rights of another team to compete in the challenge.
  • Participants may not put themselves, or any other guest or employee of Gaylord Palms resort, in harms way.
  • Participants are forbidden from causing damage to the grounds and property of Gaylord Palms Resort.
  • Collusion amongst teams is absolutely prohibited.
  • During the Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge all participants must obey all rules as set out by the Sponsor, as well as all laws of Osceola County and the State of Florida.

If, for any reason, any portion of Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge is not capable of being conducted as planned, then Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the game or any portion thereof. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant who violates these Official Rules or the associated Terms and Conditions incorporated herein, or who tampers with the enrollment process, or who engages in any conduct detrimental to any of the Released Parties, the game or any other participant (in each case, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), to suspend or terminate any participant whose eligibility is in question, and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this game at any time.

8. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Released Parties assume no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries. Released Parties assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries.

9. OFFICIAL RULES/WINNERS LIST
Participating in Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge is subject to these Official Rules and the Terms and Conditions, the Gaylord Hotels Privacy Policy and any other rules expressly referenced herein. For winner information (available after September 24, 2008) or an additional copy of the Official Rules, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge c/o Marketing Department Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, 6000 W Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34746. Specify "Rules" or "Winner List." Requests for official rules must be received by August 24, 2008. Residents of VT may omit return postage on rules requests.
A winners' list may be obtained after September 24, 2008 by sending a self addressed stamped envelope to the address above, Attn: Winners' List.

SPONSOR: The Sponsor of this contest of skill is Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, 6000 W. Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34746.

10. MISCELLANEOUS
The section headers contained herein are provided for convenience purposes only and shall not be used to modify or interpret these Official Rules. In the event that any provision of these Official Rules (or Terms and Conditions) is found invalid or unenforceable pursuant to judicial decree or decision, the remainder of the Official Rules (and Terms and Conditions) shall remain valid and enforceable according to its terms. The parties intend that the provisions of these Official Rules be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Accordingly, the parties agree that if any provisions are deemed not enforceable, they shall be deemed modified to the extent necessary to make them enforceable.
Sponsor reserves the right to change these Official Rules at any time, in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to halt, modify or suspend Summer Treasure Hunt Challenge at any time for any reason.
In the event that the game is challenged by any legal or regulatory authority, Sponsor reserves the right to discontinue or modify the game or to disqualify residents in the affected geographic area. In such event, Sponsor shall have no liability to any players who are disqualified due to such an action. This contest may not be used for any form of gambling.
Inquiries concerning entries will not be accepted.

11. GAME ADMINISTRATION
By participating, participants agree that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will be responsible for resolving any disputes and rules violations that arise in connection with the Contest. All decisions by Sponsor regarding the Contest shall be final and binding in all respects. These Official Rules will be governed and construed in accordance with Florida law, without regard to conflict of law principles in the Florida courts
